The 1.6T engine is updated and the gearbox gear ratio is optimized. Although the engine displacement of 2024EXEED TXL has not changed, the tuning has been updated. This is the third-generation 1.6T engine of Chery Group. We all know that Chery is the first brand in China to independently develop turbocharged engines. In terms of technology, it has mainly improved combustion control. The combustion speed in the cylinder is changed through the iHEC combustion system and the 90mm high-energy ignition system, so that the fuel can be used more thoroughly.

The iHEC combustion system includes a fish maw-shaped intake port, a high tumble ratio combustion chamber, combustion airflow guidance technology, etc. The fish maw-shaped intake port combined with the special shape of the combustion chamber can improve the low-lift intake airflow ratio, and the intake energy has increased by 50% compared with the previous generation. The airflow guide design can reduce the amount of humidity in the cylinder, making combustion more complete and reducing emissions at the same time.

Since the high-pressure direct injection system is 200bar, this engine still has room for improvement in the future. For the turbine, EXEED chose the mature brand BorgWarner and used the new electric actuator. The pressure relief can be precisely adjusted, and the response is faster than the previous generation. The machined impeller has a low moment of inertia, which can make the peak torque of the engine explode earlier.

To reduce engine friction. Including accessory system, valve timing system, cooling system, lubrication system and crank linkage mechanism, all adopt new anti-friction technology. Compared with the previous generation, the overall friction is reduced by 20%, which can reduce energy waste and increase thermal efficiency.

In terms of engine heat dissipation, Xingtu also uses all mainstream technologies. Including exhaust manifold integrated cylinder head, cross-flow water jacket, electronically controlled clutch water pump, etc., the intelligent temperature control system can keep the engine at normal operating temperature in hot summer. For Chery's luxury brand EXEED, the noise of the engine is also a point that needs to be balanced. EXEED uses a special silent timing chain, crankshaft damping unit, and more sound insulation cotton to reduce the vibration of the engine from being transmitted to the cockpit.

In terms of gearbox, the 1.6T model matches Getrag's 7-speed wet dual-clutch. The gear ratio has been optimized, which is smoother than the old model, and at the same time increases the top speed of the vehicle. The top speed of the 2024 model has been increased from 187km/h in the 2023 model to 200km/h.

After retuning, the maximum power of the engine has exceeded 200 horsepower, increased from 197 horsepower to 201 horsepower, and the peak torque is 300Nm. The explosive speed range is 2000-4000 rpm. Such power data is placed on a 1.6-ton SUV, and it is relatively easy to start acceleration and overtake.
