Cooperation with Central Asia

The second “China + Five Central Asian Countries” Economic and Development Forum with the theme of “China and Central Asia: A New Path to Common Development” was held in Beijing from November 8th to 9th. As an important node of the ancient Silk Road, Central Asia has always been an important partner of China. Today, with the proposal and implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the cooperation between China and Central Asian countries has become closer. Significant progress has been made in economic and infrastructure construction cooperation, which has been creating a new situation of win-win cooperation between the two parties. Participants said that the cooperation between China and Central Asian countries is systematic and long-term. The prosperity and stability of Central Asian countries is of vital importance to the surrounding regions. China’s investment has promoted the development of Central Asian countries. Central Asian countries look forward to learning from China’s positive experience and strengthening cooperation in areas such as poverty reduction and high-tech. Weifang Century Sovereign Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. also attended the forum as an invited guest, and published plans and proposals for future investment in the five Central Asian countries.

The Central Asian countries are the only way from East Asia to the Middle East and Europe by land, and their geographical location is very important. The Chinese government and the governments of the five Central Asian countries had an in-depth exchange of views on continuing to promote cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, connectivity, energy, agriculture, science and technology, and reached important consensus. In exchanges, ensuring the security and sustainable development of the region and finding common solutions to hotspot issues in the region will help strengthen multilateral cooperation between China and Central Asian countries. Discovering new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation should be the primary task of multilateral exchanges between China and Central Asian countries. The cooperation between China and Central Asian countries is systematic and long-term, and has been upgraded to a strategic partnership. China has become an important trade and investment partner of Central Asian countries.
