Avatr 12 appeared in the latest catalog of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. The new car is positioned as a luxury mid-to-large new energy sedan with a wheelbase of 3020mm and a size larger than Avatr 11. Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions will be offered. According to previous reports, Avatr 12 will be launched in the third quarter of this year and is expected to be launched within this year.
In appearance, Avatr 12 adopts a family-style design language similar to Avatr 11. The simple front face without center grid is only decorated by the lights on both sides, which is very futuristic. Among them, the LED daytime running lights and turn signals can show the dynamics of flowing water. Referring to Avatr 11, a large number of sensors such as semi-solid-state lidar, millimeter wave radar, ultrasonic radar and camera will be installed in the front of the car. In terms of the rear, the design of the new car is relatively simple, but it does not adopt the penetrating taillight design of the Avatr 11 model.
The rear of the car adopts a through-type taillight design, and the smaller rear windshield seems to be exactly the same as Avatr 11. The large-size multi-spoke wheels not only provide a sense of class, but also conform to the young and sporty product positioning of the Avatr 11 model. The taillights do not adopt a through-type design, and the clean and concise straight lines are very recognizable. In its upper part, there seems to be an active lifting spoiler. Combined with the rear camera and closed rear window design, the car is expected to be equipped with a streaming media rearview mirror.
In terms of power, the Avatr 12 four-wheel drive model is equipped with Huawei DriveONE dual-motor system. The maximum power of the front and rear motors is 195kW/230kW respectively; the maximum power of the single-motor model is 230kW. Avatr 12 is also equipped with CATL ternary lithium battery pack. According to the official disclosure, Avatr 12 is also based on the CHN smart electric vehicle technology platform.
It is not difficult to see that the new power car companies seem to have retreated from the SUV boom in the past two years, and have begun to launch their own sedan products. After all, there is still a big gap in the market for medium and large luxury electric cars. With the strong strength of Changan, Huawei and CATL, Avatr believes that it can bring us an excellent car.
